Man Who Smashed Trump's Star Bailed Out By Guy Who Smashed It In 2016

Donald Trump's destroyed Hollywood Walk of Fame star

24-year-old Austin Clay turned himself into Beverly Hills police hours after he took a pickax to President Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame early Wednesday (July 25) morning. He was charged with felony vandalism and was held on $20,000 bail. While he was trying to figure out how to come up with the bail, he was told that somebody had posted the money for him.

According to TMZ, Clay was bailed out by James Otis, who destroyed Trump's star in 2016, before he was elected as president. Otis says he wants to meet with Clay when the paperwork is finished, and he is released.

Clay is facing three years in prison, but if he follows in Otis' path and pleads no-contest to the charges, he could avoid prison time. Otis received probation, community service, and a hefty fine, for taking a sledgehammer to the Trump's star.
